My Story
Lackawanna County
Diagnosed at age 41
At 41 I was diagnosed with triple negative invasive carcinoma of the left breast. My hematologist/oncologist immediately sent me to Lehigh Valley Cancer center where I had a double mastectomy, followed by six months of chemotherapy. Well, these months were very scary and unknown to me, I always try to tell those that are supporting survivors, the most important time to support a loved one is the time after. When all the chemo and the radiation is finished when all the surgery is finished and you sit back and you have time to think and you were all alone. Remember how far you have made it and make sure that you give yourself a pat on the back and look at yourself every day in the mirror and tell yourself just how strong you really are. You are a warrior and you are a fighter. Most importantly, you are beautiful from the inside and out.
