Diagnosed at age 59
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my left breast on February 2, 2016 at age 59. On that same date, seven years later, I had a biopsy on my right breast and was later diagnosed with breast cancer in that breast at age 67. I had a mastectomy and chemotherapy with the left breast and a mastectomy with no chemotherapy required for the right. Close friends and family helped me through each journey, and I am eternally grateful to them. My faith became stronger, and I offer support to others. My advice to women is to know your body, be aggressive if you get a diagnosis, and stay positive and surround yourself with people who will be positive with you.
