My Story
Lawrence County
Diagnosed at age 65
I found a lump on my left breast. Saw my doctor, and she sent me for a mammogram. They did both breasts. I then went for an MRI for the left breast. In doing so, they found a lump on the right side also that the mammogram didn’t show. After other testing, I had a bilateral mastectomy, which in talking to my surgeon, we both felt was the best treatment. I had already known I would go that route. My mother and my sister both had a mastectomy. Both did great. I have completed my therapies in July 2023 after a year of two chemotherapies and anticancer drugs. I am fine and am positive my CT scan a week from now will be normal. Wonderful care from Allegheny Health Network, many prayers, positive thinking, and help from family and God! Keeping the faith and knowing God is there!!!
