I clearly remember exactly what I was doing on December 19, 2013 when I heard those dreaded words; Ms. Albany, I’m sorry to inform you that you have breast cancer. I was devastated to say the least. I was diagnosed with stage 2B ER-positive invasive ductal carcinoma. When life throws you lemons you make lemonade out of your situation, and I did just that through advocacy.
